Krasnoyarsk owners share funny pet tales
A pampered pet enjoys calm routines at home thanks to a devoted, attentive owner.
Residents of Krasnoyarsk shared amusing stories from their pets’ lives and talked about the useful skills their animals have. We invited readers of our Telegram channel «NGS24.RU — News of Krasnoyarsk» to send in their stories.
For some of our readers, a pet is not just a full-fledged family member but also a real helper.
«Our girl Lisa can open the balcony door — that’s why we nicknamed her a cat burglar,» says a subscriber with the handle Elena. To prove it, she shares a video.
A helpful cat opens doors and accompanies household routines with determination and curiosity.
«And she [Lisa] also swipes cotton swabs from the table and brings them under the blanket,» Elena continues. — «In the evening we find out who the surprise was waiting for. We love our girl very much.»
Another rescuer of a cat stands guard over her owner in the bathroom.
This vigilant cat stays nearby during baths, anxiously offering a paw until everything ends.
«My fluffy madam always wants to rescue me from a filled bathtub, even reaches out a paw, gets terribly worried, and won’t leave until I finish all my washing routines,» says Oksana.
And some pets, according to their owners, actively help them pack suitcases.
Suitcase announced, the pet immediately climbed in, supervising packing with earnest, possessive attention.
The next heroine — Daisy — don’t be fooled by her size; she’s a true guard, her owner says.
Tiny Daisy acts like a fearless guard; at home she’s nicknamed the ‘avcharka’.
«No one I know considers her a toy terrier or even a small dog — we call her our ‘avcharka’ (bark-shepherd). Only a closed door spares the neighbors from a mauling. In a past life she was surely a queen, because the fact that other people besides us live in the apartment block clearly bothers her — for eight years we’ve been explaining that this isn’t all our house,» says Nina.
There are very creative ones too. For example — the cat Marsik. He was found on the street — bathed, fed — and stayed. He settled in quickly, the owner says.
Marsik eagerly sings along to vocal practice and rushes to recordings of her voice.
«Our daughter studies vocals, so he sings along to her, trying in every way to help her hit high notes by gently nibbling her legs and rubbing against them. It’s very funny to watch. If I play a recording of our daughter’s voice, he runs to me, wherever he is, and rubs against the phone. He is the most devoted admirer of our little girl’s talent. Such a smart kitty we have,» boasts Svetlana.
Some pets simply love to misbehave. Perhaps that’s exactly why their owners love them.
A crafty cat sneaks porridge from a bowl, convinced nobody is watching the theft.
«A crafty cat was stealing porridge from another cat while I wasn’t looking,» our subscriber comments on the video above.
But that’s nothing — some of them steal not just food but an entire husband.
«It’s like this every morning for us. I open an eye, decide to finally get up… I make one wrong move — and that’s it! Glasha (our little sausage on legs), without opening her eyes, like an experienced saboteur, starts operation “Crawl Over”. She takes my place with an expression that says it’s only right! My husband immediately hugs her, and she looks at me with such a victorious gaze: “Clear off? No-no, you’re the one who’s free here.” And you can’t chase her away,» says Glasha’s owner.
Glasha confidently takes the warm spot in bed, nestling in where her human lay.
NGS24.RU staff also shared amusing stories about their pets. Correspondent Dmitry Mamaev has two cats at home — Ryzhulya and Milka.
«The first recently showed ingenuity and shut the door behind which their litter box was while we weren’t home. In attempts to open the door they shredded all the wallpaper. The second heroically scratches the sofa, knowing she mustn’t. And when you pay attention to her — she runs away,» says Dima.
Correspondent Tatyana Zarva has not yet gotten pets of her own, but shared stories from relatives.
«My grandmother’s dog has a hyperfixation on potatoes: if you don’t give him some or hide them, he will bark a lot and howl for a long time; it’s impossible to plant potatoes with him, because he will definitely dig them up,» says Tanya.
«The cat at my parents’ house (yes, he’s overweight, we know) is perfectly capable of getting down from the balcony windowsill himself, but prefers to call and call for a long time for someone to lift him down; at the same time he’s absolutely not hand-tame and categorically forbids petting or brushing,» our colleague says.
The next photos are not for the faint-hearted, warns NGS24.RU deputy editor-in-chief Polina Borodkina. All because her cat is a true predator.
«The mouser cat named Myshka became a huntress immediately after moving to a private house. She wiped out all the mice on her territory and on the neighbors’ territory, then moved on to the field, from where she brings rodents to her humans and demonstratively lays several of them in a neat row, as if to say: eat up, humans — pure protein. Notably, she doesn’t eat them herself,» Polina says about her favorite’s habits.
