Fleeing from the pursuit, the hare ran up to the inspector«s car and sat down in front of the hood. The predator had to abandon its prey and run into the forest. After that, the frightened hare sat in front of the car for a while longer, not allowing the inspector to leave.

The sable hunts mice, voles, shrews, squirrels, chipmunks, hares, young marmots, pikas, small birds, and young game (hazel grouse, white partridge, capercaillie). From plant products, it eats cedar nuts and cedar slate nuts, berries — blueberries, bilberries, lingonberries, bearberry, black and red currants, rowan, and bird cherry.
