Ginger cat makes home in Ufa fire station after breaking in

Our animal companions often help us cope with stress, which is especially important for people whose work involves constant danger. So it«s no surprise that lately, cats have been taking over Ufa»s fire stations.

Previously, we wrote about the cat from Station No. 35 in Shaksha. Now, Fire Station No. 8 has also acquired its own mascot. As the firefighters themselves say, the kitten simply came to them about a month and a half ago and stayed to live.

«The guys let him in from the street, and he immediately set about performing his direct duties. He scared away all the mice and rats,» — says Internal Service Sergeant Kirill Zhernosek.

Yes, the ginger fluffball is not just a symbol and stress reliever for the fire station. He also brings benefits — he catches local rodents. So to speak, he stands guard over order in the station.

According to the guys, at first he was very thin and dirty — they had to wash and fatten him up. The sound of the siren initially frightened him, but now he«s used to it and calmly goes about his business. Ginger, by the looks of it, is not even a year old yet; the kitten loves to play and run around. Although he loves to cuddle just as much: during the entire filming, the fluffy one didn»t get off their hands.

They haven«t given him a specific name; everyone calls him in their own way. Some affectionately call him «Ginger», some shout «Rusty» at him, there are those who call the kitten «Phoenix». Also, the guys jokingly call him by the name of their red-haired colleague.

The cat actively participates in the life of the fire station and even attends the training classroom, where he takes the most comfortable spot.

Ginger already has his own toys and a food bowl in the kitchen. There«s also a separate sleeping place, but the kitten sleeps wherever he wants. There are also plans to sew him his own uniform so that he fully matches his position.
