'Experienced Hellish Pain': Man Drags Dog 400 Meters by Car

The dog was discovered with severe injuries after being dragged by a car in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
At the end of January, a mutilated dog was found on a highway in the Bolshoye Boldino district — its appearance shocked even experienced animal volunteers. The animal was dragged along asphalt by a car, then tied up in bushes and left to die in the cold. Nizhny Novgorod activists shared the wild story on social media.
The dog was covered in blood and mutilated; volunteers accidentally found it and took it to a clinic. Even veterinarians were horrified by the number of injuries: limbs with deep wounds, claws torn off. According to activists, the dog was in such stress that it didn«t even respond to anesthesia.
«What hellish pain she experienced — one can only imagine,» wrote the well-known Nizhny Novgorod animal rights activist Lara Saplina.
Activists filed a report with the police. On January 28, the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the perpetrator who tried to so cruelly deal with the dog had already been found.
The perpetrator turned out to be the 62-year-old owner of the dog, living in the village of Sergeyevka. It turned out he wanted to get rid of the dog, dragging it 400 meters along asphalt in his Lada at a speed of 60 km/h. Now the negligent owner faces serious punishment, up to imprisonment. A criminal case has been initiated against him, which could lead to up to three years in prison for the Nizhny Novgorod resident.
