Chita Zoo and Amodovo to Raise Ticket Prices

The cost of tickets to Chita Zoo and the Amodovo zoo and breeding center will increase from 1 February 2026 for the first time in five years. This was announced on 22 January on the zoo«s Telegram channel.
The price increase is due to the rising costs of animal feed and veterinary drugs, as well as utilities. Funds from zoo visits are used not only for animal care but also for zoo development. The last time ticket prices were raised was in 2021.
The updated prices will be as follows:
- adult ticket — 600 rubles (approx. $6 at current rates);
- children«s ticket — 300 rubles (approx. $3 at current rates);
- pony ride — 100 rubles (approx. $1 at current rates).
The following will still be able to visit the zoo for free:
- children under 3 years old;
- disabled people of groups I and II and one accompanying person;
- disabled from childhood and one accompanying person;
- children from orphanages;
- conscript soldiers;
- participants and disabled veterans of the Great Patriotic War (World War II);
- children of war;
- combat veterans;
- participants of the Special Military Operation and members of their families.
Large families will be able to visit the zoo for 300 rubles (approx. $3 at current rates) — for all family members. Students and pupils of secondary specialized educational institutions and children aged 14–18 will have to pay half price — 300 rubles (approx. $3 at current rates).
The zoo has plenty to see — last year, 32 offspring were born there. Most of them will remain there to live.
