Blind, Deaf Sphynx Cat Adidas Transforms After Year in Home

In December 2024, we wrote about a homeless, blind, and deaf Sphynx cat named Adidas. He was found in an elevator of a Perm apartment building riding between floors. Concerned residents brought Adidas to the «Murcot» shelter, and he soon moved to his new owner Daria. The Sphynx has been living with her for a year and has transformed incredibly in that time. Just look at him!

A soft pink, hairless cat with a black Batman mask on his face was found in an elevator by a schoolboy. The cat didn«t go anywhere and just rode the elevator. The boy told his mom about him, and the family brought the Sphynx to the »Murcot« shelter. There it was discovered that the cat is blind and deaf. At the shelter, he was given the sonorous name Adidas. A month later, in January 2025, the cat was adopted by Perm resident Daria.

Daria has a one-eyed horse, so the girl wasn«t afraid to adopt a blind and deaf cat. Adidas has been living with the Perm resident for over a year, and recently she sent photo greetings from Adidas to the shelter. Over the year, the cat has turned into an elegant handsome fellow.

«I»m writing to say hello and share his news,« wrote the cat»s owner. «Adidas has gotten used to wearing clothes; in winter, he wears a fleece vest for warmth during the day. At first he was getting used to it and mostly just walked around in it, but now he»s used to it and runs and jumps in his clothes.«

Daria said that Adidas is very active and they play with him every day so he doesn«t get bored. The Sphynx adores sleeping under his owner»s blanket but doesn«t wake her.

«Sometimes he chases an interactive ball when he»s in the mood, but he prefers playing with a person,« shares Daria. »His eyes have become lighter, they don«t tear, and sometimes in the light they turn straight to blue, very beautiful. We bought him a big playhouse so he can sit and watch from above. He sits, likes everything, especially when the sun shines on the house. Over the year, he»s met my parents, sister, and even my mom«s Chihuahua; they came to visit us in Perm several times during the year. He»s kind and sociable with everyone.«
