Relatives of Red Army soldier Anisim Rubanenko, whose remains were found in Novgorod Oblast, are being sought in Zabaykalsky Krai. This was reported on January 20 by volunteer Roza Fattakhova of the Russian Search Movement, according to Chita.Ru.
The name of the private, whose remains were recovered on the edge of a swamp in Chudovsky District of Novgorod Oblast, was identified through a death medallion. It is known that Anisim Yakovlevich was born in 1908 in Bryansk Oblast — in the village of Zhudilovo, Pochepsky District. His wife and son have already died, but volunteers have established that the soldier«s niece, Tamara Alexandrovna Rubanenko, may be living in Zabaykalsky Krai (possibly in Borzya).
She is the daughter of the soldier«s own brother — Alexander Yakovlevich Rubanenko, born in 1902. He is a veteran, a participant in the Great Patriotic War. He was called to the front from Zabaykalsky Krai (from the settlement of Bukachacha, Chernyshevsky District). He was an employee of the NKVD (People»s Commissariat for Internal Affairs) and worked in a local GULAG (Soviet labor camp) camp.
Relatives of Anisim Rubanenko, who wish to be notified about the place of his death, can call the volunteer at: 8 (961) 796-84-42 or write an email to: roza-fattahova@mail.ru.
The Russian Search Movement is an all-Russian public movement for perpetuating the memory of those who died defending the Fatherland. Its goal is to search for and establish the names of Red Army soldiers and commanders who were considered missing in action during the Great Patriotic War.
