«Where Georgia Meets the Sea»: A new restaurant opens in the center of Surgut. We found out if it«s worth visiting

A new Georgian restaurant, «Khurma», has opened on Lenin Avenue in Surgut. Guests are promised a place «where Georgia meets the sea.» Without much thought, our correspondent went to check it out.
The first thing that catches your eye is the impressive work on the interior. There«s a mini-tandoor in the hall, next to which lie fresh flatbreads. Right there, firewood is stacked like a woodpile, and above them are appetizing jars of pickles. But the main highlight of the room is a real retro moped loaded with boxes of tangerines. Recognize the reference to the movie »Cheburashka«?
Unlike a similar restaurant that is already well-known to Surgut residents for its meat dishes, this «Khurma» has bet on seafood. Thus, closed khachapuri with salmon costs 640 rubles (about $7 at current rates), scallops on the shell—750 rubles (about $8), mussels in tom yum sauce—660 rubles (about $7). For more about the prices, menu, atmosphere, and what scared our journalist in the restroom, read this review.
«We Felt Every Bit of His Pain»: The story of a family from Yugra raising a special child

Amir from Khanty-Mansiysk is only three years old, and he has already faced many trials. The boy«s medical record includes such complex diagnoses as encephalopathy and West and Klinefelter syndromes, which deprive him of a full life. But they do not deprive him of parental love.
Amir«s mother recalls that he was a wanted child and at birth he was given 9 points on the Apgar scale. The disease began to manifest two months later: the baby would startle strangely and freeze. The parents became alarmed and turned to doctors, but at that time no problems were detected. As it turned out later, the infant had epileptic seizures.
Amir«s condition worsened, and the family was sent to Nizhnevartovsk, where the boy was found to have a chromosomal abnormality. It came to 196 epileptic seizures a day.
The baby was taken for treatment to Moscow, and there he began to make his first progress. But now, to continue therapy, the family needs 1.2 million rubles (about $13,300 at current rates). We told the story of little Amir here.
Secret beach, jungle overnight, and a flooded city: A Yugra resident tells about her first trip to Phuket

Russian tourists love Thailand, and there are many reasons for that: fabulous nature, exoticism, the sea, fruits, low prices. There is even a direct flight from Surgut to Thailand, which makes this destination even more attractive for Yugra residents.
Surgut resident Ksenia visited Phuket for the first time. Before the flight, she was worried that she didn«t speak English very well. But she worried for nothing: at the airport, the girl and her husband were met, put into a minibus, and quickly taken to the hotel, and they were helped to fill out a tourist form.
And then the couple was in for a heavenly vacation. Clean and warm sea, Buddhist temples and statues covered with gold leaf, and many cafes. There were also small adventures: in a cave temple, the Yugra resident encountered monkeys, and she also managed to ride a bamboo raft and spend the night in the wild jungle.
Ksenia told everything about the trip to the fairy-tale island here.
