On January 25, daytime temperatures in Chita will rise to minus 21–23 degrees Celsius (about -6 to -9 degrees Fahrenheit), according to the Zabgidromet (Transbaikal Hydrometeorological Service) website.
No precipitation is expected in Chita. A weak southeast wind of 2–7 meters per second is forecast.
Temperatures across the region will be 20–25 degrees below zero Celsius (about -4 to -13 degrees Fahrenheit). In eastern and northern areas, it will be colder — up to minus 25–30 degrees Celsius (about -13 to -22 degrees Fahrenheit). During the day, light snow in some places.
The lowest nighttime temperature in Chita — 49.3 degrees below zero Celsius (about -57 degrees Fahrenheit) — was observed on January 7, 1931. The highest daytime temperature — 0.4 degrees above zero Celsius (about 33 degrees Fahrenheit) — was recorded on January 1, 1974.
