On January 24, classes in schools in Ulyanovsk may be completely canceled, according to the regional Ministry of Education and Upbringing. Meteorologists forecast abnormal frosts — at night, the thermometer will drop to -33°C (-27°F). Corresponding recommendations have been sent to the management of educational institutions.
Recall that on January 23, elementary school students stayed home. Parents were notified in school chats.
As reported by the regional Hydrometeorological Center, in the coming weekend, Ulyanovsk Oblast will be under the influence of a ridge of the Siberian anticyclone. It has brought clear and frosty weather, without precipitation. Night temperatures will be -32°C (-26°F) to -33°C (-27°F). In some parts of the oblast, even stronger frosts are possible. This is nine degrees below the climatic norm. Abnormal cold will persist at the beginning of the work week.
