Snowfall and Icy Rain Forecast for Krasnodar Region on Friday

In Krasnodar and the region, meteorologists forecast renewed snowfall and sleet for Friday, January 23.
«Snow will fall, transitioning to wet snow, and in places to rain, with possible accumulation of wet snow on wires and tree branches. Icy rain and black ice are expected,» said Mikhail Leus, lead specialist at the Phobos weather center.
According to Yandex Weather, precipitation in Krasnodar will begin on the night of January 22–23 and continue throughout Friday. The air temperature will be around +2°C (36°F), but it will feel like -6 to -7°C (21 to 19°F).
On Saturday and Sunday, January 24 and 25, sleet will continue. Daytime temperatures will be +1 to +2°C (34 to 36°F), feeling like -1 to -3°C (30 to 27°F).
The regional traffic police reminded drivers to reduce speed and increase following distance during snow and black ice. Driving on summer tires in winter carries a fine of 500 rubles (approximately $5 at current rates).
Earlier, 93.RU reported that the main temperature spike is expected from Tuesday to Friday next week— from January 27 to 30. During this period, the Kuban region will be in the warm sector of a southern cyclone, with meteorologists promising temperatures up to +15°C (59°F).
