Siberian anticyclone brings temperatures to -31 °C for Saratov weekend

A Siberian anticyclone is set to bring frigid conditions to Saratov, with temperatures plummeting to -31 °C (-24 °F) at night, according to local forecasters.

Over the weekend and at the beginning of next week, weather conditions will be determined by a Siberian anticyclone, with daytime temperatures dropping to -20 °C (-4 °F), and at night — to -31 °C (-24 °F). This forecast for the next three days was given by Dmitry Mytarev, deputy head of the regional hydrometeorological center in Saratov.
«Due to the anticyclone, frosty weather is expected: there will be variable cloudiness, no precipitation. The wind will be north-easterly, weak, with an average speed of 3–8 m/s. Abnormally cold weather will also be observed. The average daily air temperature will be 9 °C (16 °F) or more below the climatic norm,» the forecaster noted.
According to him, air temperatures at night on Saturday will drop to -22… -27 °C (-8… -17 °F), on the night to Sunday and Monday — to -26… -31 °C (-15… -24 °F). During the day on these days, it will be -15… -20 °C (5… -4 °F).
