Meteorologists« forecasts of abnormal frosts in Tyumen for January 23 have been fully confirmed.
«Classes for the first shift of students in grades 1-9 in in-person mode are canceled,» the Tyumen administration reported.
The education department explained how such decisions are made.
«A virtual assistant has been developed, a special program that automatically collects weather condition parameters from seven different sources for the current date, calculates the average value, and this system then posts information for students» parents about the cancellation of classes due to climatic conditions,« said Anatoly Ivanov, head of the department of the education department of the Tyumen city administration.
Recently, many schoolchildren have often stayed home due to harsh frosts, and not always by official government decision.
While the automated system analyzes data, parents often rely on their own perceptions and leave their children at home.
Meteorologists are warning of intensifying frosts, so city residents should prepare for further cooling.
