On January 24, daytime temperatures in Chita and Zabaykalsky Krai are expected to be around −21 to −26°C (−6 to −15°F), according to the Chita Hydrometeorological Center, as reported by Chita.Ru.
In the districts of Zabaykalsky Krai, conditions will be mostly precipitation-free. A north wind of 3–8 meters per second is expected. Daytime temperatures will range from −21 to −26°C (−6 to −15°F). In some parts of the southern half, temperatures will be around −15 to −20°C (5 to −4°F), while in the northern half of the krai, they will drop to about −26 to −31°C (−15 to −24°F).
The prevailing nighttime temperature will be around −36 to −41°C (−33 to −42°F). In northern and some eastern districts, it will fall to minus 47°C (−53°F). In isolated southern, southeastern, and even eastern areas — specifically in the Mogochinsky District — temperatures will be around −27 to −32°C (−17 to −26°F).
In Chita, the minimum temperature will be between −39 and −41°C (−38 to −42°F), with a daytime high of −24 to −26°C (−11 to −15°F). A north wind of 3–8 meters per second is expected, with no significant precipitation. Overnight into Sunday, temperatures will drop to −37 to −39°C (−35 to −38°F).
The cold will ease slightly in Chita by the start of the next week — January 26. Nighttime temperatures are expected to be −25 to −28°C (−13 to −18°F), rising to −17 to −20°C (1 to −4°F) during the day.
