Yesterday evening, pillars of the northern lights were visible on the Ryazan camera of the STARVISOR project, as reported in the Telegram channel of Ryazan astronomy enthusiasts RZNASTRO | Sharing the Cosmos.

Earlier, in a conversation with a correspondent from YA62.RU, our reader Matvey Vorontsov shared his footage of the aurora in the Ryazan region.

«I was incredibly lucky with the weather, so I am absolutely happy that I managed to run outside and record live video of the real aurora before it was again covered by relentless clouds. It was perfectly visible to the naked eye, and no additional processing was done on the video,» he shared his emotions.

Project leader of RZNASTRO Natalia Andrievskaya said that a solar flare occurred on the evening of January 18th, and the ejection was directed towards Earth. Thanks to this, the northern lights were observed all over Russia, but they were best visible in the more southern regions of the country.
