Omsk to Warm to -6°C After Severe Cold Snap

In Omsk and the Omsk region, a significant warming is expected in the second half of the coming week. However, residents must first endure several more frosty days. According to forecasters from the Omsk Hydrometeorological Center, on January 26-28, strong Siberian frosts are anticipated at night across the region, with air temperatures from -30 to -35°C (-22 to -31°F), and in some places dropping to -38°C (-36°F).
During the day over the next two days, temperatures will range from -20 to -25°C (-4 to -13°F), but on Wednesday, January 28, it will warm to -12 to -17°C (10 to 1°F). Snow is possible in the north on Wednesday, while the rest of the area will have no precipitation, with possible black ice.
A strong warming will begin in Omsk from January 29. According to the service Weather NGS55.RU, on Thursday, January 29, the city is expected to see temperatures from -17°C (1°F) at night to -12°C (10°F) during the day, with snow. On Friday, January 30, precipitation is expected again, and daytime temperatures will warm to -9°C (16°F). The same temperature will persist overnight into Saturday, January 31. During the day on the last day of February, the air will warm to -6°C (21°F).
According to preliminary forecasts, in early February, Omsk will experience a significant cold snap again, with temperatures expected to drop to around -20°C (-4°F).
