Novosibirsk village residents freeze as heating fails; investigators start probe

Residents of Sokur village in Novosibirsk Oblast have complained about heating supply disruptions. The Bolotninsky Interdistrict Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia has launched an inspection, according to the agency«s press service.
The Telegram channel Mash Siberia reports that heating problems in the village began on January 14, with temperatures in the local hospital dropping to +4°C (39°F).
According to the channel, people have appealed to various authorities, but without success.
As part of the probe, investigators will determine the causes of the incident and assess the legal responsibility of those in charge of the heating supply. A procedural decision will be made based on the findings.
