Heating outage affects Severodvinsk blocks, school, kindergartens

Heating supply has deteriorated in part of Severodvinsk due to a pipeline accident. Repair work is underway on the networks. This was reported by administration head Igor Arsentiev.

“Damage occurred overnight on the supply pipeline near apartment building No. 25 on Karl Marx Street. Since 6 a.m., two emergency teams have been working on site: 10 people and 6 units of equipment,” he clarified.

Heating parameters have been temporarily reduced at the following addresses:
Truda Street 12, 14, 16;
Karl Marx Street 24, 26, 28, 30, 32;
Sergo Ordzhonikidze Street 3, 5, 7, 9;
Block No. 87 (bounded by Pervomayskaya — Truda — Karl Marx — Sergo Ordzhonikidze);
Block No. 89 (bounded by Pervomayskaya — Sergo Ordzhonikidze — Karl Marx — Morskoy);
Block No. 90 (bounded by Karl Marx — Sergo Ordzhonikidze — Lomonosova — Morskoy).
“Heating reduction also affects School No. 21, kindergartens No. 67 ‘Medvezhonok’ (Little Bear) and No. 69 ‘Dyuymovochka’ (Thumbelina): staff of educational institutions are monitoring the temperature regime in the premises, and if necessary, deciding to shorten lessons,” added Igor Arsentiev. “Replacement of the damaged section of the heating network is planned to be carried out within 2-3 hours. I am personally monitoring the situation and will keep you informed, including directly from the work site.”
Update. The Severodvinsk prosecutor«s office has launched an investigation due to the shutdown of heating and hot water in homes.
“It has been established that on Karl Marx Street in the city of Severodvinsk, the supply of hot water and heating is limited in 86 apartment buildings where over 20,000 people live. Severodvinsk prosecutor Igor Fedortsev visited the site. Based on the inspection results, the prosecutor«s office will assess the activities of resource-supplying and management organizations, and if grounds exist, measures of prosecutorial response will be taken,” the department reported.
Recall that in early January, residents of one apartment building in Arkhangelsk were left without hot water and heating during frosts. Batteries burst in their entrance, and the temperature in the apartments does not rise above 12°C (54°F). Reports of cold in apartments came from various parts of the city.
