On Monday, January 26, abnormally frosty weather will persist in Ulyanovsk, according to the regional Hydrometeorological Center. Nighttime temperatures will drop to -33 degrees Celsius (-27°F). During the day, it will warm slightly to -21 degrees Celsius (-6°F). This is nine degrees below the climatic norm. Meanwhile, clear and nearly windless weather will set in. Precipitation is unlikely.
No warming is expected in the coming days — the region is under the influence of a ridge of the Siberian anticyclone. Only in the second half of the week might the frosts ease.
