Specialists report: The average daily air temperature is expected to reach -35°C (-31°F) in the south of Tyumen Region on January 26 and 27. Moreover, the Hydrometcentre forecasts that temperatures will fall to -42°C (-44°F) at night.

Due to such severe frosts, in-person lessons for schoolchildren may be canceled again in the region. Last week, students already stayed home for a similar reason, but then decisions on weather-related cancellations caused dissatisfaction among parents, students, and teachers. Education Minister Sergey Kravtsov responded to this situation, calling on regional leaders and education departments to approach decision-making promptly and responsibly.

As for the forecast for the near future, meteorologists had previously reported when warming could be expected in the region.
