Governor Pavel Malkov believes that Ryazan and the region coped well with the abnormal snowfall that hit the area on the January weekends. The official stated this at a government meeting on January 20.

According to Malkov, Ryazan Oblast was cleaned well and promptly.

‘In these days, I traveled a lot both in the city and in the oblast, and I walked a lot on foot. My personal assessment is that the roads were cleaned satisfactorily. I did not see any serious problems. They cleaned well, with quality. It is clear that there was a lot of precipitation, but we managed,’ stated the head of the region.

At the same time, Pavel Malkov admitted that Ryazan does not have enough resources for such abnormal snowfalls.

‘We have talked about this more than once. The future is solely in automated cleaning, and we, of course, do not have the necessary means now,’ added the governor.

He promised to increase resources and called for continuing to eliminate the consequences of the snowfall, including remaining ice and icicles.
