Brrr! 30-Degree Frosts to Strike Sverdlovsk Oblast Again

Forecasters from the Ural Hydrometeorological Center warn that 30-degree below zero frosts are expected in Sverdlovsk Oblast, with the harshest conditions in the north and lighter snow in Yekaterinburg.

30-degree below zero frosts are set to hit Sverdlovsk Oblast. Forecasters from the Ural Hydrometeorological Center have issued a warning. They noted that abnormally cold weather in the coming days will be confined to the north of the region. In Yekaterinburg, less severe cold and snow are expected.

«Precipitation will occur in most areas of the oblast,» said Alexey Pulen, author of the Telegram channel Weather in Yekaterinburg. «In the south, on the warm side of the front, snow will temporarily cease, resuming only closer to the evening [of January 30], when a wave cyclone approaches the region from the west.»

In Yekaterinburg on January 30, light snow is expected, with temperatures from -1 to -3°C (30 to 27°F).

On January 31, snow, with overnight lows of -6°C (21°F) and daytime highs of -5°C (23°F).

On February 1, also snow, cooling to -16°C (3°F) at night and forecasted -14°C (7°F) during the day.
