Blizzards and Snowdrifts: Weather Forecast for Rostov and Region

The weekend of January 24-25 in the Rostov Region will be snowy and frosty. This is stated in the hydrometeorological bulletin of the Rostov Hydrometeorological Center.

According to the forecast, in Rostov-on-Don the weekend will be cloudy with clearings. From Saturday night, heavy snow, at times even a blizzard. Precipitation will stop only by Sunday morning. On the roads, black ice and snowdrifts. On January 24 and 25, the wind will be northeast and east at a speed of 8-13 meters per second.

On Saturday daytime, the air temperature will range from -5 to -7°C (23 to 19°F), at night from -11 to -13°C (12 to 9°F). On Sunday daytime, it will get colder to -8...-10°C (18 to 14°F).

In the rest of the Rostov Region, the weekend will also be cloudy with clearings. On Saturday, in most areas, light to moderate snow, in some areas heavy. In some places, a blizzard, at night and in the morning in the north, hoarfrost. On Sunday, snow only in the morning, but in some places precipitation will be heavy.

The wind on both weekend days will be the same as in Rostov-on-Don: northeast and east at a speed of 8-13 meters per second.

On Saturday daytime, the air temperature in the northern half will be -10...-15°C (14 to 5°F), in the southern half -4...-9°C (25 to 16°F). At night -8...-13°C (18 to 9°F), with clearings down to -18°C (0°F), in the extreme northern areas down to -24°C (-11°F). On Sunday daytime, in the northern half -11...-16°C (12 to 3°F), in the southern half -5...-10°C (23 to 14°F).

On January 24 and 25, snowdrifts and black ice are forecast on the roads of the Rostov Region.
