ARVI incidence in Altai Krai rises nearly 66% in a week

Health officials in Altai Krai are monitoring a sharp increase in ARVI cases and the spread of multiple respiratory viruses.

From January 12 to 18, 11.6 thousand cases of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) were registered in Altai Krai — a 65.8% increase compared to the previous week, the regional Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) reported.
According to the results of the third week of observations from January 12 to 18, 11.6 thousand cases of ARVI were recorded in Altai Krai. The indicator rose by 65.8% from the previous week.
Health specialists have noted the circulation of influenza viruses A(H3N2) and A(H1N1)pdm09. Additionally, viruses of non-influenza etiology — such as rhinoviruses, respiratory syncytial viruses, and adenoviruses — continue to spread in the region.
