Tomsk Bus Route 5 to Skip Meteelitsa Stop on Weekdays

The Tomsk authorities have decided that bus No. 5 will only stop at the Meteelitsa Ski Base on weekends and holidays. On weekdays, the bus will go directly to 30th Anniversary of Victory Street, according to the mayor«s office press service.

The city administration reported that from January 26, bus No. 5 will stop going to the Meteelitsa ski base on weekdays, and will instead travel directly along Academic Avenue, from the Kaspiyskaya Street stop to the 30th Anniversary of Victory Street stop. However, on weekends and holidays, the bus will continue to serve the Meteelitsa stop.

According to deputy mayor — head of the city utilities department Dmitry Putrov, this decision will help reduce intervals and waiting time for citizens:

«We conducted a study of passenger flow on this route and found that the greatest »demand« for this stop is observed on weekends. Therefore, the department decided to officially change the route scheme for No. 5, excluding the Meteelitsa Ski Base stop from the route on weekdays.»
