Snowstorm in Perm leads to nine-point traffic gridlock

In Perm, heavy snowfall continues for the second day. Although roads began to be cleared on the evening of January 29, streets were still clogged with traffic jams on Friday morning. We tell you where traffic is especially slow today.

From 08:00 on Friday, Yandex Maps rated traffic congestion on Perm«s streets at nine out of 10 points. Users of the geo-service reported several traffic accidents: at Stakhanovskoye Ring and the interchange in Sosnovy Bor, the intersections of Mira and Sovetskoy Armii, Uinskaya and Griboyedova, Popova and Yekaterininskaya, as well as Admiral Ushakova and Kalinina.

All entrances to Perm are stuck in traffic jams, but movement is free on the Communal Bridge. On the maps, approaches to Gaidar Square and Stakhanovskoye Ring, the intersection of Chkalova with Kuibysheva and Geroyev Khasana, as well as all roads inside and around the Pogoda residential complex, are colored red and burgundy. The traffic jam on Solikamskaya stretches from Vosstaniya Square to Gashkova Street.

Perm«s Department of Transport warns passengers about changes to bus routes in its Telegram channel. Routes No. 4, 31, 45, and 50 are bypassing the stops »Ulitsa Smirnova« and »Municipalny DK« via Tikhoy Kompros. In Zakamsk, buses on routes No. 15, 60, and 65 have been redirected to Avtozavodskaya via the DK named after Kirov, and they do not stop at »Medsanchast No. 133«.

Moreover, social media reports say that a taxi got stuck on tram tracks near Stakhanovskoye Ring. On Petropavlovskaya, trams are slowly passing over the switches at the intersection with Borchaninova Street.

The Road Safety Center advises drivers to avoid sudden maneuvers and pedestrians to cross the road only according to the rules.
