In-demand bus route returns to Omsk city center

The carrier that will revive the once-popular route No. 514, connecting Neftyannikov town with the 3rd Razyezd, has been identified. The city hall summed up the competition results: route No. 514 will be serviced by LLC «Omstar».
LLC «Omstar» was registered in 2008 in Omsk. The founder of the transport company is Alexander Terentyev. In 2024, the carrier had revenue of 179 million rubles (about $2.0 million) and incurred losses of 5 million rubles (about $55,600).
Currently, the organization services route No. 20 («ONPZ» – «Moskovka-2»). On the renewed route No. 514, 10 mid-class buses will operate. Moreover, the fare will remain unregulated.
The vehicles from Barkhatova Street will follow the familiar route for Omsk residents via Khimikov Street, Mira Avenue, Krasny Put, Internationalnaya Street, Gagarin Street, and 10 Let Oktyabrya Street. This is how «Gazelles» operated on route 514 until summer 2023. For another year — until summer 2024, minibuses bypassed the city center via Frunze and Gertsen streets. Then the route was closed.
It also became known that no one wanted to service route No. 99 («Chkalovsky» – «Ryabinovka»). The city hall announced a competition for it several times.
The company «Omstar» is part of the «Omsk Transport Union». Previously, its head Nikolai Artemyev explained the dangers of branding all buses in the city.
