Unlicensed cosmetologist infects client with injection in Stavropol

A 34-year-old resident of Zelenokumsk in the Sovetsky district of Stavropol region will stand trial for providing cosmetology services without a license or specialized medical education.
According to the investigation, the woman rented an office and accepted clients despite lacking a permit for medical activities in the field of cosmetology.
In September 2024, a 43-year-old woman came to her for a procedure. An infection was introduced during an injection into the eyelid area. The client«s condition deteriorated, forcing her to seek medical help.
An expert«s conclusion stated that the victim suffered moderate harm to her health.
Investigative authorities have qualified the cosmetologist«s actions under Part 1 of Article 235 of the Russian Criminal Code — illegal medical practice. The investigator has gathered sufficient evidence, and the criminal case has been sent to court for consideration on its merits.
The Investigative Committee reminds that injection procedures should only be performed by specialists with proper medical education and a valid license. Before a visit, it is important to check documents, pay attention to sterility, and not be afraid to ask questions — it«s a matter of health.
