U.S. President Donald Trump has once again threatened Iran with strikes against the country. As reported by the head of the White House, Washington demands that Tehran sign an agreement to settle the situation in the Middle East. All that is known about the conflict has been gathered in this article.

Threats from the U.S.

An armada of American ships is moving towards Iran and will be ready to strike the country if Tehran does not come to the negotiating table. This was written by U.S. President Donald Trump on the social network Truth Social.

“A powerful armada is heading towards Iran. It is moving quickly, purposefully, with great enthusiasm and power. This is a larger fleet, led by the aircraft carrier ‘Abraham Lincoln’, than the one we sent to Venezuela. As with Venezuela, it is ready, willing, and able to carry out its tasks quickly if necessary, swiftly and brutally,” — stated in the message.

Donald Trump also called on Tehran not to delay its response to the proposed nuclear deal. According to him, time to consider the terms is already running out. He also emphasized that a possible attack on Iran this time will be «much more brutal» than last summer.

Iran«s Position

After Trump«s message, Iran»s permanent mission to the UN stated that Tehran is ready for dialogue with the U.S. However, in case of strikes on the country, the Islamic republic will defend itself and give a powerful response.

“The last time the U.S. irresponsibly got involved in wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, they spent over $7 trillion and lost over 7,000 American lives. Iran is ready to engage in dialogue based on mutual trust and interests, but if forced, it will defend itself and give an unprecedented response,” — stated in the message from Iran«s mission on X.

What the U.S. Demands

After the conflict began, negotiations between the United States and Iran started. Thus, U.S. President«s special envoy Stephen Whitcoff voiced the demands that the White House is putting forward to Tehran for a diplomatic settlement of the situation. In particular, Iran must abandon uranium enrichment, get rid of its existing stockpiles of enriched uranium, reduce missile arsenals, and cease support for its proxies in the Middle East.

How It All Began

A wave of protests that began in Iran in late December 2025 as a reaction to the collapse of the national currency and sharp price increases is rapidly politicizing, turning into one of the most serious challenges for the authorities in recent years. Tehran authorities accused Israel and the U.S. of organizing the protest.

In response, U.S. President Donald Trump stated his readiness to use military force if Iranian authorities order to open fire on the demonstrators.

Tehran authorities call the U.S. leader«s statements »reckless and dangerous« and blame the U.S. and its allies for organizing unrest and destabilizing the Iranian currency. High-ranking officials warn that any intervention »will be cut off with a painful blow,« and remind the U.S. of their failures in Iraq and Afghanistan. Experts from various countries fear that the situation in Iran may unfold according to the Venezuelan scenario.
