Deputy Chemiris Accuses Primorye Governor of Long-Standing Vendetta

Russian State Duma deputy from the New People party Roza Chemiris has publicly accused Primorye Krai governor Oleg Kozhemyako of systematically persecuting her family. In her Telegram channel «Deputy Chemiris,» she made a post about a multi-year personal conflict that, according to her, has turned into a political vendetta.

Roza Chemiris published her statement in response to a publication by Primorye political observer Olga Kishakovskaya about large-scale personnel reshuffles in the Primorye Legislative Assembly after her husband-parliamentarian«s departure to the zone of the special military operation in Kherson Oblast for six months.

«Igor Chemiris»s departure to the special military operation became the impetus for major reshuffles in the Primorye parliament. Besides the change in committee chairs, <…> there was a change in the leader of the United Russia faction. <…> The faction was headed by Legislative Assembly speaker Anton Voloshko,« Kishakovskaya wrote on January 28.

On the same day, deputies of the Primorye Legislative Assembly at a meeting relieved Igor Chemiris from the position of chairman of the committee on social policy and protection of citizens« rights on the initiative of a group of parliamentarians from the United Russia faction. In his place, through voting, they elected United Russia member Vsevolod Romanov.

Initially, on January 20, when it became known about the parliamentarian«s departure to the special military operation, the press service of the Legislative Assembly told VLADIVOSTOK1.RU that at a meeting of the social policy committee, deputies for the period of Chemiris»s absence chose an acting chairman — it became representative of the United Russia faction Nikolai Alyoshin. However, this name did not appear at the meeting.

In response to what is happening on the political arena of Primorye, Roza Chemiris openly stated that this is part of a long-standing conflict, initiated, according to her claim, personally by the region«s governor Oleg Kozhemyako.

«His hardly explainable vendetta against my family has lasted for many years. What doesn»t the person do — commissions articles in affiliated publications, calls our acquaintances, telling them that we are his personal enemies,« the deputy wrote.

She also cited an episode that occurred, according to her, in Moscow at one of the events in the national center «Russia,» where she was invited as an honorary guest: «The Primorye Krai governor called the organizers and shouted into the phone that I am his enemy and should not participate in the event.»

The parliamentarian stated that she intends to publicly release a detailed account of events over the last eight years related to pressure on her family.

VLADIVOSTOK1.RU on January 28 requested an official comment from the press service of the Primorye government. At the time of publication, no response had been received.

In mid-December of last year, Roza Chemiris was accused of selling spots for participation in one of the State Duma events. The investigation into the deputy was reported by chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, and the message about suspects also included Andrei Svinzov and Kaplan Panesh (both from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, LDPR). Later it turned out that this was done by an assistant to one of the deputies, who approached Chemiris«s assistant for additional passes, but did not specify the reason and details. As a result, the parliamentarian wrote in her Telegram channel that she fired her employee involved in the situation.
