Woman to Face Trial for Scratching Mercedes in St. Petersburg

The St. Petersburg Prosecutor«s Office announced on 20 January that a criminal case against a 62-year-old resident of the Moskovsky District has been sent to court. The woman is charged with intentional damage to someone else»s property.

The woman used a mailbox key to scratch the parked Mercedes, an act caught on camera.

The conflict that led to the case occurred on the evening of 26 September 2025. The woman went out for a walk with her dog from her home on Vitebsky Prospekt. As she passed by a parked Mercedes car, she scratched it with a mailbox key. The accused believed her actions went unnoticed, but the incident was captured by a surveillance system.

The car owner assessed the damage, which exceeded 32,000 rubles (approximately $356 at current rates). During the investigation, the woman explained that she acted because the Mercedes owner had parked too close to the main entrance, which displeased her.
