Three injured in Voronezh garage cooperative fire and explosion

An emergency occurred at the Titan-1 garage construction cooperative on Antonova-Ovseenko Street on 19 January at 15:13 MSK, according to the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) for the Voronezh Region. For a reason yet unknown, a fire started, a propane tank depressurized – and exploded. The blast wave destroyed two brick walls – debris crushed a Niva. Meanwhile, the flames engulfed three garage boxes. According to rescuers, a Ford car«s trunk was damaged by the fire, and a Kia Rio»s rear bumper and brake light were damaged.
The fire was extinguished in 12 minutes, but three men who were in the garages were injured by the explosion and fire – one is 31 years old, the other two are 37 and 38. They were taken to Regional Clinical Hospital No. 1. The cause of the emergency is being investigated by state fire inspection experts and police.
This is the second gas cylinder explosion in Voronezh garage cooperatives in the last three months. As reported by Voronezh1.ru, in late October 2025, there was also a major fire and explosion at the Soyuz cooperative on 9 Yanvarya Street – then one man died on the spot, and the second died in intensive care several days later. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case.
