On the evening of January 29, Perm was hit by heavy snowfall, which lasted until lunchtime on January 30—the city is still trying to cope with the aftermath. This evening, Perm is gripped by 10-point traffic jams. Traffic on Marzhutnaya Street has come to a complete halt.

On the night of January 29-30, Perm was covered by heavy snowfall—its peak passed only by midday. Meteorologist and Doctor of Geographical Sciences Andrei Shikhov noted that such snowfall has not been seen in the region for 25 years. Currently, the city has 10-point traffic jams, buses are running behind schedule, and people are crowding at stops. Traffic on Marzhutnaya Street is completely paralyzed—this was reported by the Perm Krai Center for Road Traffic Safety (CBDD) on its Telegram channel.

Additionally, the CBDD adds, severe traffic jams have formed on Kuibyshev Street in both directions and on Chkalova Street from the Stakhanovskaya side. The agency notes that roads have already begun to be cleared, but it will take time to restore traffic flow.

In the same area, at the intersection of Kuibyshev and Chkalova, an accident occurred. On Chkalova, writes the CBDD, a car caught fire.

«Avoid this area at all costs!» — recommend the CBDD. — «Consider alternative routes. If you are already in a traffic jam — be patient. Do not block occupied intersections. The situation is under control, but difficult. We are monitoring the situation closely.»

Earlier we wrote about how on a snow-covered highway in the Perm Krai, a foreign car crashed into an SUV — two people died.
