Samara Oblast Attacked by Enemy Drones

Russian defense officials reported that Samara Oblast was targeted by drone strikes overnight, detailing the destruction of multiple UAVs across several regions.

On the night of Tuesday, January 20, Samara Oblast came under attack by drones. This was reported by representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to their data, a total of 32 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles of aircraft type were destroyed over the country«s territory during the night (from 23:00 to 07:00 Moscow time).

  • nine each — over Bryansk Oblast and Crimea;

  • three — over Voronezh Oblast;

  • two each — over Belgorod, Kursk, Volgograd, Astrakhan, and Samara oblasts;

  • one — over Smolensk Oblast.

A UAV attack threat in Samara Oblast was announced at 01:11. The corresponding warning was sent by representatives of the RSChS (Unified State System of Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations) using an app from the EMERCOM (Ministry of Emergency Situations). Information about the all-clear was published at 06:21.

Simultaneously, Rosaviatsiya (the Federal Air Transport Agency) introduced temporary flight restrictions in Kurumoch. The ban on aircraft departure and arrival was lifted at 06:13 local time.

So far, the Russian Ministry of Defense has been the only agency to provide information about the UAV attack on Samara Oblast. No reports from other regional officials had been received at the time of publication.
