Head-On Crash on Sortavala Highway Leaves One Injured

On the evening of January 20, at the 108th kilometer of the A-121 Sortavala highway, a head-on collision occurred between Jaecoo and Geely vehicles. The driver of the Jaecoo sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital before rescue teams arrived.

Search and rescue team members from Priozersk, upon arriving at the scene, disconnected the batteries in both vehicles. The causes of the accident are still being determined, and police and emergency services have not commented on the incident.

The emergency rescue service urged drivers to obey traffic rules, adhere to the speed limit, and avoid dangerous overtaking.

Earlier, on January 18, a similar accident occurred at the 130th kilometer of the Kola highway. A KIA Spectra passenger car collided head-on with a KAMAZ truck. As a result of the crash, the driver and passenger of the KIA died, while the truck driver was uninjured.
