On the night of January 20, a major fire broke out at an auto service center on Sakharov Street in Yaroslavl, near building No. 20/3. Witnesses quickly posted photos and videos from the scene on social media.

Witnesses to the incident noted that loud bangs were heard during the blaze. «There were very loud bangs,» a local resident said.
Footage from the scene captured by witnesses shows intense flames and emergency operations.
According to the Russian Emergency Ministry (EMERCOM) for the Yaroslavl Region, the fire call came in at 23:04. Firefighters who arrived found the auto service center building engulfed in flames. Preliminary information indicates that cars and gas cylinders were inside.
Thirty-two rescuers and 12 units of equipment were deployed to fight the fire. The blaze, covering an area of 300 square meters, was localized at 00:03. Open burning was extinguished by 00:23, and the fire was fully put out by 2:40.
As a result of the incident, the auto service center building was damaged, and property inside was destroyed. Two outbuildings were also affected. Eight passenger cars were destroyed by the fire, and three other vehicles were damaged.
Fortunately, there were no casualties. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by EMERCOM Russia investigators.
