At Irkutsk Airport over the past weekend, a 37-year-old resident of Ulan-Ude was removed from the Irkutsk-Bangkok flight. The man was denied travel due to a public order violation, according to the website of the East Siberian Linear Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Transport.
According to the department, the passenger was drunk, used foul language, and did not respond to warnings. The airport dispatcher called a police squad to the plane. After an inspection, the airline decided to deny the man transportation.
An administrative report was filed against the offender for petty hooliganism. Instead of vacationing in Thailand, he remained at the departure airport.
Also over the weekend, two more incidents were recorded with passengers on flights from Irkutsk to Novosibirsk and Irkutsk to Tashkent, who also could not depart due to hooligan behavior.
The offenders face a fine from 500 to 1,000 rubles (approximately $6 to $11 at current rates). In addition, they may be added to airlines« »black lists,« which will allow carriers to deny them flights in the future, according to the transport police.
