A criminal case has been initiated in Zabaikalsky Krai over the ejection of a minor passenger from a train after he passed his destination station, according to a 30 January post on the Telegram channel of the East Siberian Transport Prosecutor«s Office.

The case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Russian Criminal Code, “Provision of Services That Do Not Meet Safety Requirements for Life or Health of Consumers.” The article«s sanction provides for a fine of up to 300,000 rubles (approximately $3,300 at current rates) or imprisonment for up to two years.

Russian Railways (RZD) promised to credit the teenager with 4,000 bonuses and refund the cost of two tickets.
