25-Year-Old Driver Hits Pedestrian in Central Samara — Video
The accident occurred in central Samara
On Thursday afternoon, January 29, a traffic accident occurred in central Samara, injuring a pedestrian. Local residents were among the first to report it, publishing a dashcam video on social media.
«At the intersection of Michurina and Moskovskoye Highway around 3:00 PM, an elderly pedestrian was hit. He was crossing the road in an unauthorized place,» witnesses said.
The footage shows a man running across the roadway. He almost made it, but a foreign-made car hits him. He is flung into the air and even flips over before falling onto the curb. Several other people immediately run to the victim, also violating traffic rules.
The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Samara Region provided preliminary information on the accident. According to them, the driver was a 25-year-old man behind the wheel of a BMW. Inspectors also confirmed that the pedestrian was crossing the road in an unauthorized place.
«The pedestrian was hospitalized from the accident scene by an ambulance. His identity is currently being established,» police added.
The details of the accident are yet to be determined by specialists.
Several days ago, another traffic accident occurred in the Oktyabrsky District of Samara. Unfortunately, in that case, the pedestrian died.
