During the week of January 12-18, 8,728 people sought medical help with symptoms of ARVI and influenza in the Voronezh Region. This was reported by the regional office of Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing).

Of these patients, 3,547 are children under the age of 14. The incidence rate saw a significant increase compared to the previous week, when 5,669 cases were registered, including 2,349 children.

Sanitary doctors are reminding Voronezh residents of the importance of preventive measures. To reduce the risk of infection, they recommend strengthening immunity, maintaining a healthy work-rest balance, dressing appropriately for the variable winter weather, and, when possible, limiting visits to crowded places. Particular attention should be paid to personal hygiene: regular hand washing, using disposable tissues, and wearing protective masks during the seasonal rise in illnesses.

At the first signs of illness — such as fever, cough, sore throat, or weakness — specialists strongly recommend seeking medical help and avoiding self-treatment.
