A 75-year-old local woman with diabetes appealed to the prosecutor’s office after she was not supplied with necessary medication. An investigation found that a clinic had prescribed her test strips for a specific brand of glucometer but did not issue them due to temporary unavailability. However, analogues of the product were in stock, yet they were neither prescribed nor provided to the retiree.
The prosecutor submitted a formal notice to the head of the medical institution, the regional department reported. Following this, the retiree was prescribed test strips of a different brand, which were issued together with a glucometer.
