Tomsk Deputies Approve 7 Million Ruble Repair for 'House with Lantern'

Deputies approved the allocation of an additional 6.6 million rubles (approximately $66,000 at current rates) for the repair of the house at Kuznechny Vzvoz, 6.

The historic residential building began to be repaired in 2025. For this purpose, 12 million rubles (about $120,000 at current rates) were allocated from the budget. With this money, they repaired the roof, drainpipes, and plinth, replaced window fillings, and restored the frieze and window frames. In 2026 the issue was raised about continuing the repairs: it is necessary to strengthen the foundation and reinforce the soil to prevent the building from sliding into a ravine.
The proposal to allocate additional funds for the repair was voiced at a meeting of the Tomsk City Duma on Friday, January 30.
«Increase by 6.6 million rubles (approximately $66,000 at current rates) the subsidy funds for carrying out repair work on the cultural heritage site at Kuznechny Vzvoz Street, 6,» voiced the proposal by the head of the finance department, Anna Malsagova.
The deputies approved this decision.
