Ryazan Residents Question Snow Cleanup Near Homes

Every day in the comments on Governor Pavel Malkov«s social media, Ryazan residents send dozens of photos of uncleared sidewalks and roads in the city, as well as meter-long icicles threatening to fall on people»s heads.

A journalist from YA62.RU collected several complaints from local residents to find out which parts of the city have particularly difficult cleanup situations. And these are far from all the appeals that can be found.

‘This is dangerous for health’

One of the districts that local residents often complain about is Gorroshcha. On Dzerzhinsky Street, for example, a lot of snow has accumulated on the sidewalks, and the roadside has turned into «snow slush». According to one Ryazan resident, cleanup has not been carried out here, although he has been asking for it for two weeks.

Another local resident under the nickname Marina showed boulders in front of a pedestrian crossing on Chernovitskaya Street. «How are children and elderly people supposed to cross here?», the woman wonders. Several other Ryazan residents complained to the governor about the same street with blocks of ice.

Another problematic spot is the Radiouniversitet bus stop towards the center:
«I received information that city services are working on clearing snow from streets in the Zheleznodorozhny district, including Gagarin Street. The specified stop is not cleared. The danger to the health of city residents remains: disabled people, pensioners, mothers with children, etc. Take measures!» — shared this time another Marina in the governor«s comments.
Besides snow-covered roadsides, Gorroshcha is «rich» in icicles several meters long. We have already written about several houses where residents noticed ice blocks, and now another place has appeared — on Poletaeva Street:
«All this could fall on someone. I ask to solve the problem with icicles and ice on the roofs along Poletaeva Street from the intersection with Ostrovsky Street to the intersection with Chernyshevsky Street. And also on Chernyshevsky Street, building 2/1-12.»
But Gorroshcha is not the only district that Ryazan residents complain about. In Pavel Malkov«s comments, several mentions of Narodny Boulevard on Moskovsky can be found. For example, Maria complains about snow at the bus stop towards Sberbank.
«The bus stop is in terrible condition. It is completely impossible to descend to the transport. First, they answered that the stop would be brought to proper condition by January 19, now they wrote in a week. Please tell me, how are we supposed to descend to the transport down this icy mountain?», the woman was indignant.
Even central streets were not spared by the snow. «Who should clean the slush from the road?» — wondered a Ryazan resident, walking along Teatralnaya Street towards Novaya.
Another local resident, Lyudmila, told about a huge ice floe along the road on Tsiolkovsky Street:
«Between TD »Variant« and Pharmacy No. 6 lies a slippery dangerous ice floe. It needs to be chipped away and removed. Today, in front of my eyes, two people fell, I myself barely avoided falling. If someone gets injured, who will be responsible?»
‘Let him try to enter public transport’
A few days ago, on January 20, at a government meeting, Governor Pavel Malkov stated that the cleanup in the city was carried out satisfactorily:
«I have been traveling a lot around the city and the region these days, and I have walked a lot on foot. My personal assessment — I believe that the roads were cleared satisfactorily. I did not see any serious problems. They cleaned well, quality. It is clear that there was a lot of precipitation, but they coped.»
At the same time, the governor noted that resources for such abnormal snowfalls in Ryazan are still insufficient.
In response to this, Ryazan residents were dissatisfied with such a «stroll» and do not understand how one could not notice the uncleared roads and sidewalks.
«Let him try to enter and exit public transport at the bus stop. At the same time, let him hold a small child in his arms or a large bag in his hand. And also let him try to cross the road at a crossing. First, let him climb up the mountain, and then descend from it, and if he is unlucky, slide down,» — wrote Ryazan resident Margarita in the comments under the post on YA62.RU.
Many local residents also began mentioning their districts and snowy streets as alternatives for the governor«s further walks.
