Dangerous aloe drink batch found in Khanty-Mansi region
Inspectors seized the batch of aloe drink during a check at a store in Langepas.
On the shelves of a store in Langepas, a popular non-alcoholic aloe drink under the brand Moon Berry from the manufacturer «Velta-Penza» was found. At the end of last year, the company«s products were removed from sale across Russia due to non-compliance with safety requirements.
Inspectors from Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) conducted a test purchase at the store, confirming that the drink is freely available for sale. Violations were identified using the «Honest Sign» system. The batch of goods was seized pending a decision on confiscation. The entrepreneur faces a fine, and administrative cases have been opened against him.
Recall that at the end of last year, a scandal erupted around the popular Aloe Vera drink. Buyers began complaining about a sharp acetone smell coming from the bottles. Rospotrebnadzor conducted an inspection and found foreign and potentially health-hazardous impurities in the products. All products of the company «Velta-Penza» were withdrawn from sale, and the activity of the enterprise where the drink is produced was suspended. Rospotrebnadzor urged citizens not to consume the drink until the final results of the examinations are received.
