A new open-air pool is planned for Yekaterinburg, which will become part of the Badenland thermal complex. The complex is located in the building of the former Komsomoll shopping center in the ZhBI district, where its first phase has already begun operation.
Baden Family company founder Yevgeny Kononov shared details of the project: «In two months we will open an outdoor pool here. It will be year-round, with water temperature of 37°C (98.6°F), with a fast current, attractions, a pool bar, hydro- and aero massage. Palm trees will stand around it, and everything here will be green.»
The first visitors to the resort have expressed mixed feelings. Some guests doubt how well the open-air pool will fit into the area adjacent to the building.
«The Uktus thermal baths have a good location — surrounded by forest and pine trees, it feels like you are resting somewhere far from the city hustle. But here there is a road and a railway nearby. Such an environment is unlikely to be conducive to comfortable rest and relaxation,» shared Yevgeny, a Yekaterinburg resident.
The development of Badenland includes three phases. The full completion of all work, including the facade update, is scheduled for July 2027.
This is not the only such facility in the city. In 2024, the Yuga thermal complex opened in Yekaterinburg, on the territory of which an outdoor pool is also equipped.
In addition, the city already has a year-round pool located on the roof of the Vysotsky skyscraper.
