Mother of Three Wins Billion Rubles in New Year's Lottery
The New Year«s lottery awarded a billion-ruble jackpot to a mother raising three children.
In a New Year«s lottery draw, a mother of three from the Volgograd region won one billion rubles (approximately $10 million at current rates). For Daria, buying tickets for the winter holidays has become a cherished tradition she shares with a friend.
According to the press service of the lottery operator «Stoloto», the winner runs a company focused on culture and eco-tourism and is raising three children. She plans to use the billion rubles to renovate her own house.
«My friend and I traditionally take part in the New Year»s draw and watch the live broadcast. But this time we missed it, and I only checked the tickets in the evening via the mobile app. I immediately realized I had won, and my friend was very surprised and at first didn«t believe it,» the woman shared.
On the same day, another resident of the Volgograd region also won a billion rubles, but their identity remains unknown as the organizers have not disclosed any details.
Previously, in a similar draw, another winner almost lost her prize when her husband accidentally threw the winning ticket into the trash during a major cleanup, unaware of its value.
