‘Graduate Outcomes Matter’: Inside Tyumen’s Delfa Education Center

Six years ago, Russia approved a list of systemically important IT companies. In connection with this, programming schools and professional development courses began to appear, and «getting into IT» became the cherished dream of many. And now, looking back, the efforts of those who were at the origins of training Russian computer specialists are more clearly visible.

One of such pioneers is the Delfa supplementary education center, which began operating in Tyumen in 1995. Over 30 years of continuous teaching, the school has constantly improved its methodology. Today, all programs comply with Federal State Educational Standards (FSEs), and upon completion, graduates receive a standard diploma.

At Delfa, they offer the opportunity to try different directions, develop skills, and over time choose what really interests and suits you.
The educational center has a diverse selection of courses. Schoolchildren can prepare for the Unified State Exam (USE) and the Basic State Exam (BSE) in physics, mathematics, computer science, and Russian language, as well as learn game development, program in Java, Python, and 1C, and even pilot drones. A special place at Delfa is occupied by the IT professions school, which helps children get acquainted with the basics of the digital world and technologies. At the core of all courses is the understanding that the learning process should be conscious and voluntary.
“We strive to help children comfortably settle into the world of technology without pressure and a formal approach, to form an interest in learning, and to show the world of modern professions,” teachers comment on the teaching features.
For adults, the supplementary education center has prepared professional development and retraining programs. They are designed to meet a wide range of requests from both private individuals and companies. The learning process is focused on practical skills: in classes, they master not abstract concepts, but tools for solving real professional tasks. At Delfa, they offer a flexible format for attending courses: in-person, online, by correspondence, individually, or studying new topics through video lessons.
Despite the wide range of educational programs, at Delfa, they consider the knowledge and skills that students acquire as the priority.
“Our goal is to create not just courses, but a full-fledged educational environment where both adults and children can consistently develop, acquire relevant knowledge, and see the practical result of learning,” Delfa employees say.
The result is evident: over the years, the center«s teachers have trained more than 50,000 specialists who now work in large Russian and Tyumen companies.
Coming soon, on February 6, 2026, Delfa will host an open day. Here, one can get acquainted with the center and its courses: listen to an expert, ask questions, chat with teachers, and choose a topic that will truly be interesting. Register via the link.
