Krasnoyarsk Krai ranked 19th in business «mortality» for 2025. Over the year, 2,431 companies were created in the region, while 3,035 were liquidated. This means the number of firms decreased by 604, according to a rating compiled by the analytical group FinExpertiza based on Federal Tax Service data.

This is not a record in recent years when compared to previous data on openings and closures. Here is what the picture was earlier:

In 2024, 2,633 new companies were registered, and 3,214 were liquidated. The decrease was 581.

  • In 2023 — 3,032 and 3,433 respectively (-401).

  • In 2022 — 2,871 and 3,809 respectively (-938).

  • In 2021 — 2,918 and 4,005 respectively (-1,087).

In total, in Krasnoyarsk Krai, according to SPARK-Interfax data for 2024, 56.89 thousand companies were registered.

Overall in Russia, as FinExpertiza wrote, in 2025, 173,000 companies opened (-20% year-on-year). This is a record low indicator in 14 years. In turn, 233,000 legal entities closed (+15%). Among the reasons for closures:

Initiative of owners (11.6%), including bankruptcy (2.3%).

  • Decision of tax authorities (88.4%). These are mainly companies with signs of fictitiousness or those that did not submit reports and did not conduct financial operations for a year.

Analysts clarified that the decrease in company «birth rate» is a trend in recent years, and it will persist in the near future. In 2026, entrepreneurial activity will be cooled by tax reform: VAT was raised from 20% to 22%, and the income threshold for its application was lowered.

NGS24.RU previously spoke with Krasnoyarsk entrepreneurs about how the reform will affect their work.
