Woman gets 2.5 years for stealing acquaintance's revolver

The Suvorovsky Interdistrict Court of Tula Region considered a criminal case against T.A. Kovalenko, accused of theft and illegal storage of firearms.
As established by the court, on the evening of September 22, 2025, the woman was visiting an acquaintance in one of the settlements of Suvorovsky District. During a feast, the man showed her a homemade revolver, then hid it under a pillow and fell asleep. Seizing the opportunity, the guest took the weapon and carried it to her home.
Later, police officers discovered and seized the revolver in the woman«s apartment. She did not have a permit to store weapons.
In court, Kovalenko fully admitted her guilt but refused to give testimony. By the verdict of January 26, 2026, she was found guilty and, for the totality of crimes, sentenced to 2.5 years of restricted freedom with a series of court-imposed restrictions.
Separately, it is noted that earlier — on January 20, 2026 — the same court convicted the revolver«s owner for illegal weapon storage. He was sentenced to 1 year of restricted freedom.
