Tula man discovers car on Interpol's wanted list when trying to sell

A car with an Interpol «red flag»: a Tula resident is trying to prove the legality of his foreign car purchase through the courts.
The Central District Court of Tula is hearing a civil case filed by Igor Korolyov against several divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD). The plaintiff is challenging information that the car is being sought, which, according to law enforcement, is listed in Interpol«s database.
As follows from the case materials, the man purchased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata imported from Kazakhstan into Russia. The vehicle was registered in the established manner: the owner received a registration certificate and license plates.
Problems arose when he tried to sell the car. When he applied to the MREO traffic police department to deregister the vehicle, Korolyov was refused. The basis was that the vehicle is listed as sought by Interpol, as reflected in the AMTS card.
The plaintiff considers himself a bona fide purchaser and asks the court to recognize the search information as unreliable. In the lawsuit, he also demands that the car be removed from the list of wanted vehicles through Interpol channels and that information about the ban on registration actions be deleted from all automated MVD databases, including the GIAC and GIBDD systems.
The defendants in the case are listed as the group of the National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Tula Region, the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs directorate, the Traffic Police Directorate, and the Leningradsky District Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Tula.
